Nose
Sea breeze, raspberry coulis, peat smoke, and orange oil.
Whiskey 6 of 7
A mature Islay single malt where coastal peat meets red-berry richness from ruby port.
At a blind tasting, this was the dram most people described as "velvet smoke." The port finish softened the edges of peat and added a rounded berry tone. It became the bottle we use to introduce smoky whiskies to guests who usually prefer sherried styles. It repeatedly surprises guests with how gracefully fruit and maritime smoke can coexist.
Coastal peat sits beneath ruby-fruit sweetness, with smoked plum and cocoa spice carrying through a long, elegant finish.
